It's December 25, 2007, and my investing thoughts and actions for the day included emailing my realtor in Grand Cayman to ask what the rental income is on a multi-plex property in the east end of the island, on sale for CI $ 400,000. I wanted to know why the property was being sold, and what the rental income is (presently fully rented). If cash flow positive I would consider investing, although I do wonder whether one property is enough as I currently own a property in South Sound (southwest area of the island) where I am renting to responsible tenants.
Tomorrow morning I will contact the management of a +55 complex in Clearwater Florida, as certainly, investment in the USA is timely ! Furthermore, my sister and parents jointly own a property in the same complex.
This is a lot to consider simultaneously, as I will be buying a property in Toronto within the next month, currently in the process of repatriating to Canada after having lived in Cayman Islands for the past one and a half years. As such, any property I would consider outside of my main property where I will be living, should be cash flow positive.
